Marche Excursions
- Macerata: a university town with weekly markets, galleries, opera etc (30 mins)
- Loreto: pilgrims travel from around the world to see the Virgin Mary's house (1 hour)
- Ascoli Piceno: atmospheric regional centre in south (1 hour 30)
- Urbino : birthplace of Raphael, the Ducal Palace is fantastic (2 hours 15 via coast)
- Gradara : great castle (2 hours via coast)

- Florence (Tuscany) (via Perugia) - 3 hours 45 - 255km)
- Siena (Tuscany) (via Perugia) - 3 hours 20 - 210km)

- Gubbio (Umbria) (1 hour 50 - 90km)
- Bologna (3 Hours - 300km)
- Rome (Lazio) (300km - via A14 south via Teramo- 3 hours 30)
